Students at Hereward College have been celebrating the end of their College year during the Hereward festival which included competitions, exhibitions and performances to showcase their work.
The two-week festival has included performances from dance and drama students, arts and crafts activities, indoor and outdoor sports competitions as well as visits from local schools.
Local schools, staff and students were also entertained by The Notables, a rock band for learning disabled musicians, who took to the stage at the outdoor Party in the Park event.
Emma Clark, Development Manager at Hereward College says:
“We all had a fantastic time, our students and staff put on some amazing performances throughout the day, showing just how hard they’ve worked all year. Thanks go to Ray from Hillz FM, HOET and The Notables who all added to the excitement and fun on the day.
“The Hereward Festival is a real opportunity for students and staff to celebrate all they’ve done over the year and share their successes. We are immensely proud of the achievements of all our learners and wish those that are moving on, the very best for the future.”
The festival concluded with a ‘Celebrating Success Ceremony 2015’ attended by the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor Michael Hammon. In his closing speech Councillor Hammon said:
“What a wonderful occasion. It’s always a sad to leave when you’ve got such a great college here. Well done in your achievements and every success to you all.”
