Today on Community Access, Hillz FM welcomed guests from Grapevine, a charity which supports people with learning disabilities in Coventry and Warwickshire. Their aim is to help people get connected with their local communities, to teach them to speak up for themselves and to help them meet new people.
Since 2012, Grapevine has supported a broad range of people all of whom were going through severe isloation, poverty, disadvantage and discrimination. They now tackle problems faced by young undocumented migrants, ‘Troubled Families’, disabled people, vulnerable parents and local neighbourhoods. Grapevine’s Leamington Speaking Up Group has been awarded £2,000 to make inspiring films. These will be available to view on Grapevine’s website in the summer.
As part of their work with people with learning disabilities. Grapevine will also be supporting Autism Awareness Month this April.
