Friday saw the official launch of an exciting new exhibit at The Fargo Village. The Imagine Hillfields Exhibition brings together a collection of photos, past and present, to showcase how Coventry’s first suburb has changed across the years.
Imagine is a university community research project which examines the impact of visions of the future on residents and workers.
This exhibition brings together the Richard Sadler, John Blakemore, Masterji and Jason Scott Tilley photographic collections of Hillfields, together with the archives of Coventry City Council and Hillfields History Group, and a new body of work by re-photographer Nick Stone. Over 1,000 visitors have gazed upon this extraordinary exhibit since opening night.
The opening night saw many people from Hillfields, Coventry and the wider region share the top quality pictures, share personal, planning and community histories. You can still go along and take a look. The Imagine Hillfields Exhibition is open until Monday 31st August at The Box, Fargo Village, Far Gosford Street, Coventry, CV1 5ED. Its FREE to attend so get yourself down there for a lesson on the history of Hillfields
Even Hillz got in on the act, with our very own Sweet P (Hands Across The Water), Sharda (The Bollywood Show), Isiah (The Williams Brothers, below) and Asher (The Williams Brothers) had their photos taken for the exhibit.

Liam Cook – “As a young person, it’s amazing to catch a gimpse of what Hillfields used to look like. I always thought Hillfields was just the home of Coventry City for 10 years, but now i know there is so much more to this wonderful place.”
