WATCH ltd are currently working with Imagine to unfold the history of Hillfields through images and a series of radio shows.
In the summer we launched a photography project, the aim being to bring together members of the community, both new and old and find out their perspectives and how they view Hillfields. Many of those involved had never picked up a professional camera before so there was lots of learning to be done. The participants worked well together as a team to share skills, they were eager and willing attending sessions on a regular basis to ensure they got the perfect shots.
Each photo taken tells a story, capturing culture, scenery and the lives of those living in Hillfields.
In early November 2014, the final 10 prints were chosen to be displayed at the Herbert Art Gallery just outside the Jason Tilley exhibition on the first floor. The display will stay until around Christmas and can be viewed daily between 10am and 4pm.
Here is a sneak peak of some of those shots….
