The Launch of the 22nd Positive Images Festival takes place on Saturday 11th June outside the Central Library in Smithford Way, and once again Coventry’s Number 1 Community Radio Station is in the thick of it.
The Positive Images Festival is entirely managed and organised by volunteers and all organisations affiliated to the Festival whether voluntary, cultural, educational, health related, statutory or faith related work under the umbrella of Positive Images. This year the festival will be launched at 12.00 noon on Saturday 11th June by the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Lindsley Harvard, and the city’s own Lady Godiva, Pru Porretta. For the second year the Festival is supported by the city council’s Fostering and Adoption Service.
This year’s launch is sure to be an amazing spectacle, and like last year, the event will be hosted by Hillz FM. Listed below is what you can expect from the launch of the Positive Images Festival:

12.05pm – Godiva Sisters – Parade of Godiva Sisters representing world culturea
12.15pm – Dance Infiniti – Spectacular Bollywood Dancers
12:30pm – Chinese Fan Dancers -Colourful dance by members of the city’s Chinese community
12.35pm – Caroline Wright – Local singer and musician from Britain’s Got More Talent with special Positive Images Festival anthem.
12.40pm – Jah-man Aggrey and the Afrikan Kultural-Kontrakors – West African drummers

1.00pm – Mal and Mel – Dancing to Friendly Rivalry ( Rivalidad Sympatico)
1.15pm – Anurah Halder – Solo performance from the renowned Bengali Dancer
1.30pm – Chinese Fan Dancers – second performance
1.45pm – Dance Infiniti – second performance
2.00pm – Sandra Golden – Moving to balance – solo dance performance
2.15pm – Chinese Dancers – third performance
2.30pm – Anurah Halder – second performance
3.00pm – Carl Hodgetts – Pop, rock and improvisation from local guitarist
3.30pm – The Notables – Singers from the Grapevine Centre with community band
