On Saturday 13th February 2016, we celebrate World Radio Day.
World Radio Day is about celebrating radio, why we love it and why we need it. It’s day to remember the unique power of radio to touch lives and bring people together across every corner of the globe.
World Radio Day was first suggested to the United Nations by the Spanish Radio Academy in September 2010. In December 2012, the General Assembly of the UN endorsed the proclamation of World Radio Day, thereby becoming a day to be celebrated by all UN affiliated countries and agencies.
Here at Hillz FM, we will join the world in celebrating the gift of radio, by broadcasting special shows on Saturday 13th February from 10am.
You can join the celebration on Saturday by encouraging your friends to:
- Tweet comments or ideas with the hashtags #RadioSavesLives and #WorldRadioDay or
- Instagram a selfie listening to the exclusive program to @UNESCO
