October Radio Drama Camp Week is complete! The sessions gave local young people the opportunity to create, produce and perform their very own radio drama!
Delivered in partnership with CasteAway Arts and Media Mania, the week long pilot project introduced 10 young people to every stage of audio drama production. From scriptwriting to acting for audio, character development, voice performance, radio production and Foley sound design, working together to develop an original story from concept all the way to broadcast.
The result was a radio drama titled Acquired Taste, which will premiere on Hillz FM on Saturday 14th November.
Created, written, performed and produced entirely by the young people involved, Acquired Taste is a production follows a group of friends on what should be a simple camping trip… until a poisonous berry, a talking bird, and three peculiar bears turn their adventure into something far more unexpected. But when the stakes are high and friendships are tested, who will be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice? Sit back, listen closely and enjoy Acquired Taste next on Hillz FM.
We would like to thank the amazing staff at Caste Away Arts and Media Mania for their support and expertise, and congratulate all the young people who took part for their incredible hard work and achievements.
The project was made possible through support from Coventry City Council’s Made in Coventry Grant Awards 2026, helping local young people access creative opportunities, develop new skills and share their voices through community radio.
