Paul William Gibson is a solo singer songwriter from Warwickshire in the Midlands of England. He writes and plays original songs with a country, folk and Americana flavour. He released a self produced EP of acoustic demos called ‘Homespun’ in Summer 2022, and will release a new EP ‘Chasing Sunsets’ (produced by award winning folk/roots duo Tu-Kay & Ryan) on 26th May 2023. The release of the EP is preceded by a single ‘Travelling Days’, released on 24th March.
Paul walks the line between the contemporary folk and Americana worlds, his songs showcasing a strong melodic and poetic core. His lyrics are observational, character driven and confessional. Paul is a regular on the Warwickshire and Oxfordshire folk and acoustic scenes and regularly plays further afield. As well as the release of the ‘Chasing Sunsets’ EP, the summer has in store several festival appearances alongside regular gigs, including: A Taste of Spring Festival in Banbury, Kineton Music Festival in Warwickshire and SyndiFest in Leamington Spa, with more TBA. Recent appearances include: Temperance in Leamington Spa; Banbury Folk Club; Lighthorne Folk Club; CV Folk at the Albany Theatre in Coventry; BBC Radio Oxford live session and interview; Banbury Canal Festival; The Singer-Songwriter Sessions in Alcester; Bedworth and Atherstone Folk Clubs; Folk Roots Club in Lincolnshire.
